There are multiple layers of thinking and talking. Sometimes you talk about very simple and practical things, sometimes you talk about high level stuff. It’s important to navigate these levels well.
To have effective communication, it’s essential that both parties are on the same ‘level’ of conversation. If that’s not the case, you feel that the conversation doesn’t vibe that well.
You might have experienced this during discussions about a certain topic, where each party tries to formulate their respective argument. Some people swerve from low level anecdotal to high level general conclusions. It is hard to converse well that way. (i.e. some political debates)
When making an argument you want to stick with one level, go down only to show an example and then come back to the level the conversation was on to continue where you left off.

When you succeed at navigating these levels well, you will be able to recognize what level a conversation is on and add value to it with meaningful arguments. You’ll naturally vibe better with people who do this effectively too.
