There are a couple of activities we do that have a meditative effect on the brain. It ‘lightens your mood’ or you are ‘able to think more clearly’. For some people that’s in the shower others their car, while running, cooking,…
These activities help you to order your thoughts. They are a compartmentalized moment. There is a distinct start and end to them. Meditating is exactly that, but you choose to do it purposefully to reach a certain state of mind. The big benefit of meditation is that it can be done almost anywhere, anytime and your performance improves the more you do it.
Mediation is very similar to physical exercise. You use your body all day and don’t have to exercise, but doing so makes your body stronger and more resilient. The more you exercise, the stronger you become. When meditating, the muscle you’re training is your brain.
Having that moment of exercise helps to recalibrate your mental state and energy. It improves your mental resilience.
